Success is ensured by three advanced recovery methods ? a brute force attack, a brute force attack with a mask and a dictionary-based attack.
A brute force attack is carried out when AOFPR flings all possible combinations of letters, numbers and other characters at a file. The length of the password and characters to be used in the generation procedure are selected by the user. Additionally, AOFPR allows using a mask so that the user is able to set a range of possible values for each position of a mask. For instance, the user can set AOFPR to generate a password with an upper case letter in the first position (A-Z), a lower case letter in the second position (a-z), and a dash (-) in the fourth.
