ActualDoc Professional Full Description

ActualDoc is a unique Recent Documents manager designed to provide secure, easy and convenient access to any of the documents you have recently used. It keeps track of the documents you are currently working on and helps you to find any of them, searching on name or contents.

The Windows start menu features the item "Documents" (Windows 2000) or "My Recent Documents" (on Windows XP/2003 server), where you can find your most recently accessed documents. However, there are some issues and strict limitations associated with its use:

You cannot locate a document if you remember only part of the text but not the name of the file;
Documents used a week ago or more will not be listed;
You cannot protect you privacy: anyone who uses your computer can see which files you have recently used;
The Windows menu contains only the last 15 documents accessed. Such a limitation renders it useless to busy people;
It does not list all files (for example, recently launched applications);
The Windows menu cannot handle multiple documents with the same name even though they may be stored in different folders.

ActualDoc dramatically extends the functionality of the Windows Recent Documents menu and provides you with a set of tools that will help you focus on your current objectives and not let these limitations interfere with your work.

Supporting more than 40 graphic formats as well as MS Word, Excel, PDF, RTF, text and HTML files, ActualDoc helps you find and copy any part of any recently accessed document. For example, you can paste a paragraph from yesterday's MS Word document into your e-mail message with three clicks.

ActualDoc has powerful filtering and classification functionality. It can filter recent documents by type, location or date, sort them by any criteria and group them according to customizable categories. With the effective search tool you can search for documents containing particular text strings or by name.

Another unique feature of ActualDoc is the ability to protect your Recent Documents list. There is a huge range of History Cleaner and privacy utilites that erase histories, the Windows Recent Documents folder and so on. But if you use such software you are constantly erasing your histories, and this makes it impossible to quickly reopen any of the files used. With ActualDoc you can save these histories and password-protect them.

With an Internet Explorer-like bookmark system you can keep your local and network documents at hand. Once a bookmark is created for a document, you will be able to open, explore, print or preview it with a single click. All bookmarks have a hierarchical structure and the number of bookmarks is unlimited.

ActualDoc has a multilingual, ergonomic interface and comes with a contextual help system and a comprehensive user reference. It is an indispensable utility for both professional and home users.
